Our official Race Charity for 2018 is Claire House Children’s Hospice

Running is a great way to keep fit and a fantastic way to fundraise for our local children’s hospice.

About Claire House

Claire House Children’s Hospice is a local charity that helps seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full by creating wonderful experiences and bringing back a sense of normality to family life. It means a seriously ill young person using a wheelchair can meet friends going through the same things as them, or that a mum and dad can get a good night’s sleep and recharge their batteries after the constant pressure of being a carer.

If the worst happens and a child comes to the end of their life, they can spend their last days with all their home comforts at Claire House, or be cared for at home with the support of our nurses. After they die, the hospice becomes a place where family and friends can be together whilst receiving emotional support for as long as they need it.

In 2017 322 children spent time at Claire House. For every child and family who are getting their help, another struggles on alone. You can help them to reach every child who needs them by choosing to run for Claire House.

Claire House have guaranteed entries in all of our races so you can run for FREE. All they ask is that you pledge to raise the minimum sponsorship so they can help more local families. For a place in the 10k they ask you raise £80, £150 for the Half Marathon, £200 for the Metric and £300 for the Marathon.

If you’d like to run on a Claire House place please email events@clairehouse.org.uk.

If you’ve already got a place you can still support them and just raise as much as you can! Set up your JustGiving page here to start fundraising!

Claire House will provide you with a free Fundraising Pack including a running vest, support along the way and will be there to cheer you over the finish line!
