Race Information

Congratulations to all those who ran the 2018 race. Results can be found here and race photos will be on Marathon-Photos.com.

The Roman and Medieval city of Chester is an international destination city, and has much to offer visitors, including the Roman walls and amphitheatre, shopping on its unique split-level Rows dating from the Middle Ages, the famous Eastgate Clock and museums. On the outskirts of the City are the massive Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, Chester Zoo and the Blue Planet Aquarium.

The race starts at the city centre Chester Racecourse.  The fast and largely flat route will be run entirely on closed roads.  Heading northwest out of the city on wide roads, runners will rapidly settle into the race, with plenty of support and music along the way.  In the second half of the race the runners return to Chester for an unforgettable finish outside the Town Hall and Cathedral.

Drinks stations, with bottled water, will be every 2.5 to 3 miles. We'll also have bands, music and entertainment along the way to entertain the crowds and runners.  I

There will be chip timing with splits at 10k, halfway, 10 miles and 20k, with social media athlete tracking so friends and family can follow your progress.

All finishers will receive a technical T-shirt, bespoke medal and a top quality goody bag.
